Manuel and Brad’s Gorgeous 5 Day Long French Wedding by L’Artisan Photographe
Yesterday we were in sunny Ibiza and today I am jetting you off to glorious France for this most gorgeous same sex wedding of Manuel and Brad. They decided on the location of the wedding long before they were even engaged, and you can tell from these photos and the gorgeous scenery why the area of Luberon left such a strong mark on their hearts. They really treated their guests by making the celebrations last across 5 days, with the wedding being the perfect combination of elegance and style. I love these two super cute grooms, their style, their smiles and their overall love for each other. Big thanks to Dites Moi Oui their wedding planner for the submission and to L’Artisan Photographe for the images.
An intimate wedding in Luberon – a small, memorable wedding that honored the special venue. We wanted guests to leave with memories with a trip to France.
Manuel & Brad were married in a destination wedding in Luberon, France. Manuel and Brad spent a week cycling through the Luberon, stopping in a new village every day. It was the first time they had visited the area and they quickly fell in love with the countryside. The last leg of their journey was in a resort perched on a hill with a commanding view of the Luberon. They knew that they had stumbled across a very special spot and they both agreed that this would be the spot where they would someday return to be married. The wedding lasted several days: First day – a boat cruise in Paris with a half of guests. Second day – a family dinner in a delicious restaurant in Luberon. Third day – a welcome dinner in the garden of the venue with a lovely live band looking at the vines. Fourth day – the D-day : a visit of a famous provencal village in the Luberon valley, Roussillon, following by a lunch in a French Bistro and of course an intimate ceremony on top of a hill looking at a gorgeous view on Luberon valley and a dinner and party. Fifth day – relaxation in the luxurious Spa of the hotel followed by a pool party in the venue.
The Proposal
One day, after a morning of safari in the Chobe National Park in Botswana, we were sitting on the porch of our safari tent. The camp was situated on a hill overlooking the Chobe River and the valley of neighboring Namibia. The weather, normally warm and dry, was uncharacteristically cloudy in the anticipation of rain. We sat, watching the clouds roll in, talking and taking in the final moments of our 10-day safari through Botswana. The experience was magical and put the thought of proposing into my head a few days prior. Without any preparation—and without a ring—the moment felt right when it finally started raining, bringing with it new sights, sounds and smells that we hadn’t yet experienced in Africa. We met on New Year’s Eve 2006 and got married 9 years later.
Food
The dinner was held on the terrace with a charming fountain and the decoration was rustic with aromatic herbs, foliage, succulents, lavender and a touch of punchy orange to reach the image of the couple. All the guests encjoyed a lot the “silhouettiste” performer who cut in his paper the profile of each guest : a great idea that gives fun and allows the guests to keep a nice memory of this wedding experience.
Entertainment
Manuel & Brad decided to organize a “free speech session” and a majority of the guests decided to improvise some words which gave a lot of fun and also emotions to Brad & Manuel.
Afterall, the party and dancefloor were organised in a separate room designed in a club atmosphere. Lots of candles were set on the floor to guide the guests and when they reached the space, they discovered a modern design, totally opposite to the rest of the day which was very surprising. Bartender, DJ, clubbing lights and photobooth that they enjoyed a lot until the end of the night.
Special Moments or Highlights
Manuel & Brad appreciated all days with their friends and family but their best moment was during the D-Day : walking down the hill toward the ceremony area and being in the moment during the ceremony full of emotions with a violinist.
