Serious wedding goals.

Dress

Charlotte the Bride: I knew I always wanted an open back dress so when I tried on Inaru by Enzoani Blue I felt emotional, it looked amazing and I knew it was the one. The dress was elegant, fitted and had a touch of lace and embellishment which was just perfect for me.

I feel in love with my shoes when I saw them on @imlaurabradshaw Instagram feed, and then only later to find they we’re actually called ‘Charlotte’ which felt like a sign! The sole of the shoes are finished off with an elegance engraving ‘just beautiful shoes’….it was obviously meant to be.

My husband secretly choose my jewellery a few months before I bought it. When we we’re shopping he noticed the set in Swarovski and said he really liked it. I absolutely loved the set and thought it would be a nice surprise for him on the day.

Grooms Attire

Surprisingly, finding the perfect suit was the hardest part of the wedding. We travelled to Newcastle to visit Master Debonair which I had found a wedding blog. We wanted a suit style that fitted the country boho styling and it was well worth the trip!

We also kitted out the Groomsmen, Father of the Bride and Father of the Groom with soft pastel coloured socks as we thought this would make a great picture opportunity and looked really good when they we’re sitting down in the ceremony.

As a gift to the Groomsmen, Father of the Bride and Father of the Groom we bought engraved pocket watches. Stag’s are the Grooms favorite animal and this was a clear theme throughout the wedding. Each pocket watch was engraved with a personal message, something as a keep sake with words that would mean a lot to each person. In the end we brought them from Men’s Gift Company, as they were out of stock on all other websites! Tom who works there was a great help!

The groom’s attire was completed by a stag tie pin. Stag’s are my husband’s favourite animal it was really important for them to be featured throughout the wedding.

The Venue

We wanted a venue that was close to home but also somewhere that was beautiful, and fitted with our county boho styling. It was also important to have a venue we could make our own for the day. My husband Paul works in the countryside and loves farm land, so a beautiful barn just felt right.

Colour Scheme/Décor

As I work in the fashion/design industry I knew exactly what I wanted. Many hours on Pinterest pinning my ideas meant that I wanted to perfect every little detail of my wedding. I knew I wanted grey as my colour scheme and the only pop of colour would be within the flowers and for this I chose a selection of soft pinks.

Florist

A friend of mine, Jade has recently set up a florist business (Fallen Flower Design) and the flower arrangements that she creates are simply stunning and out of this world. When discussing my ideas with Jade, she took it all in and knew exactly how I envisaged my wedding day to look. She truly was the only one I knew I could to make our venue look extra special.

We were using grey feathers for our name tags for the table settings, and to keep everything cohesive and tied into our country/boho styling, also included them into the groomsmen.

The wooden boxes that were used on the reception tables were made by my husband and the wooden ladders used for the seating plan were borrowed from my Grandad and a family friend. This really meant so much; just looking around and knowing that all the decorative pieces were either borrowed from family and friends or handmade by myself and my husband, just made everything feel so special.

The Wedding Party Fashion

After spending hours looking in shops and searching online I came across the most beautiful light grey embellished bridesmaid dresses on ASOS, and we fell in love with them even more once they arrived and tried them on. For the accessories, we bought the bridesmaids Thomas Sabo friendship bracelets as their thank you gift and gave them to them the morning of the wedding so they would wear them during the day.

Ceremony

Walking down the aisle with my father was going to be special, and I always knew that I wanted a song that meant something to us both so I decided on Braveheart – For a love of a princess. Braveheart has been our favorite film since I was a little girl, and knew this song was the one!

Food

The cake was a rustic iced 2 tier cake with beautiful delicate flowers weaved around the cake which Fallen Flower Design created on the morning of the wedding.

Photographer

As soon as we started planning our wedding, I knew there was only one photographer I would use and trust with my wedding and that is Kathryn. Her work is stunning and each photo captures the emotion on the day and makes it look so natural which I love about her work.
