Charlton House Tea Room

The perfect setting to catch up over lunch, our wonderful wood panelled tea rooms are full of history. During the warm weather you can enjoy lunch outside on our grounds. The Tea Room offers light lunches, such as jacket potatoes, sandwiches and savoury pastries as well as fresh tray bakes, delicious cakes and hot and cold beverages.

Afternoon Tea can be booked for small or large groups of visitors within Charlton House. Cream tea and a selection of cakes and sandwiches are available, all served with exquisite views of both the house and its grounds. Bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance and between 11am – 3pm, Monday to Saturday.

Reception Hire

Four ornate rooms, long sweeping driveway, beautiful walled gardens, Charlton House is as versatile as it is unique for your wedding celebration. Our beautiful wedding halls and reception areas can accommodate up to 150 guests and are rich in period detail, featuring original fireplaces, wood panelling and intricate strap-work ceilings.

Arrive in style by car or carriage as you travel slowly up the driveway to the house. Greeted with a glass of champagne and escorted through to the beautiful walled gardens for your reception drinks and photographs, capturing happy memories for you and your guests. After drinks move onto your wedding breakfast served by our expert caterers, before dancing the night away with your friends and family.

Ceremony Hire

Hold both your ceremony and reception in our beautiful Jacobean manor house and grounds, with three rooms licensed for civil ceremonies offering the perfect setting for exchanging your vows.

The Grand Salon, Long Gallery and Old Library are all available for civil ceremony hire featuring beautiful wood panelling, marble fireplaces, original Jacobean strapwork ceilings, and stunning views across the grounds and gardens.

To book your ceremony at Charlton House you must also contact Royal borough of Greenwich Registry Office. Whilst we are able to hold a date until you confirm details with the registrar, we would advise that you confirm their availability as early as possible.
