I was blessed to have been asked by ARC Music Prod Int to produce a series of recordings which have since 1998 remained a high priced set of caribbean Steel Drum albums. One of the tracks from the first album Steelasophical Caribbean Steeldrums 20 Most Popular Hits was purchased by a Sony Music executive who happened to be listening to the CD in his car. The got to the iconic track Linstead Market and loved it so much that he decided he wanted to use it in a movie he was working on. The movie was James Bond 007 Casino Royale
Gary Trotman presents Steelasophical with music in the iconic English movie franchise James Bond 007 Casino Royale. Sony music USA approached ARC Music Prod Int Music for permission to license a track from one of our best selling Caribbean Steeldrum albums (find album on iTunes). Permission was duly granted and they selected the Track Linstead Market to be used to add a Tropical Music Flava to their new movie Casino Royale.
It was a very joyous day to learn that the movie containing our music made it through to the final movie cut, and was indeed used in the movie. Garys’ music can be heard in the background when the movie moves location to the Casino in the Bahamasyale
CASINO ROYALE THE MOVIE
After receiving a license to kill, British Secret Service agent James Bond (Daniel Craig) heads to Madagascar, where he uncovers a link to Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen), a man who finances terrorist organisations. Learning that Le Chiffre plans to raise money in a high-stakes poker game, MI6 sends Bond to play against him, gambling that their newest “00” operative will topple the man’s organisation.

Twenty-first film Eon Productions James Bond film series and the first to star Daniel Craig as fictional MI6 agent James Bond. Directed by Martin Campbell and written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and Paul Haggis, the film marks the third screen adaptation of Ian Fleming’s 1953 novel of the same name. Casino Royale is set at the beginning of Bond’s career as Agent 007, just as he is earning his licence to kill. After preventing a terrorist attack at Miami International Airport, Bond falls for Vesper Lynd, the treasury employee assigned to provide the money he needs to bankrupt terrorist financier Le Chiffre by beating him in a high-stakes poker game
