Burgundy and Bohemian Festival Wedding Inspiration
As autumn is well and truly upon us, it is great to see a shift in the colours and tones of the inspiration shoots I’m being sent. Rich autumn tones are the colours of the moment and this is so true for todays shoot. The shoot which has been planned and photographed by Caroline Opacic Photography is a wonderful collection of deep burgundy, rich tones and a real mix of boho styling. It is all brought together in a stylish festival theme, including macrame, scatter cushions, flower crowns and lace dream catchers. The shoot took place in August at Country Tipis and brings together a fabulous team of talented wedding suppliers. A stunning mixture of deep warm tones, showing that weddings don’t just have to be about the pastels.
A vampy celebration of burgundy and bohemian combined, this shoot was an alternative to the usual autumn palettes – featuring an outdoor macrame arch ceremony, tipi banquet and firepit.
I’ve always had an affinity to tipi weddings and as I was in the very early stages of forming an idea for this shoot, I second shot a wedding at Country Tipis. I immediately knew they could provide the perfect background for the bohemian feel I was hoping to achieve. Everything went from there really – Ceri from Country Tipis was brilliant to work with and happy to get involved.
In my mind, I originally had an idea for a 1970s festival inspired feel, but as the idea grew and I played around with current colour trends, it transformed into a celebration of rich colours and more of a vampy boho vibe. I always tend to lean towards a preference for pastel colours, but wanting to try something a bit different, I stumbled across the navy and burgundy colour trend. I fell in love immediately – I could already visualise the vivid colours in the florals and table stylings. Our secondary colours combined plum and gold, really building on the strong palette. Vintage Garden Weddings also provided a lot of ideas – they got as excited about the shoot as I did, so we were brimming full of potential setups and decor ideas.
This was the first styled shoot I have co-ordinated alone, so I was slightly apprehensive – and ultimately just wanted it to be a success! I’m happy to say everything went to plan and I couldn’t have wanted more from the team on the day – every one worked really hard to create something we can truly be proud of. I wanted to create autumnal wedding inspiration without the usual cliches, and I think with this colour palette and alternative decor, we achieved it perfectly.
